Massachusetts Horticultural Society announces the GOLD MEDAL AWARD TO THE GARDEN CLUB FEDERATION OF MASSACHUSETTS for the DESIGN DIVISION OF A STANDARD FLOWER SHOW "BEDAZZLED - THE ALLURE OF COLOR" SHIRLEY MINOTT, CHAIRMAN
Walnut Hill Garden Club has been notified by Bobbie Lingard, Staging Chair for the 2002 New England Spring Flower Show that the work that Shirley Minott did as Chairman of the Design Division for the Garden Club Federation Of MA has entitled them to be awarded the Gold Medal from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. The award is being announced March 22, 2002 and will be awarded in two months at an elaborate awards ceremony.
It should be noted that this is not to be confused with the flower show awards for entries (Shirley has won many over the years). This is specifically for her preparation and execution of her work as Chairman of the Design Division and the award is to the Federation.
It should be noted that this is a serious award, a very big deal, and all of Shirley's hard work, attention to detail, creativity and vision made that award possible.
