November Meeting: 11/4/03, 7:30 p.m. at Cushing Hall in Norwell . Fred Rice will entertain us with an overview of New England holiday traditions of the past and present in his presentation of "Christmas in New England".

Please try to carpool to this special event in order to ensure adequate parking.

Directions: take Rt-53 N/S to Rt-123 E to Norwell Center (3.1 mile). Just past the town green (on the right), Cushing Hall will be on your left (large brick building with palladium windows) on the corner of Main St. and Central St. Parking is in back of the building.

November Board Meeting: 11/18/03, 7:30 p.m. at the Phoenix Lodge.

WHGC Board: Due to personal reasons, Rosemary Sampson has left WHGC Board. Please welcome Anne Lorge as the new Hospitality Co-Chairperson.

Female Veterans Holiday Gift: Kathy Murray is collecting cosmetic bags and cosmetics for the female veterans for Christmas. Please bring any contributions to the WHGC meetings or drop off at Kathy Murray’s home (leave on her farmer’s porch). The female veterans truly enjoyed this personal gift last year.

Holiday Decorations Workshop: 12/2/03, 7:00 p.m. at the Cedar School. Prices: $12 WHGC Members & $20 Guests. Please select the masterpiece you would like to learn how to create at the workshop and submit your payment to Donna Kirby on President’s Night or by 11/15/03. Responding by the deadline is important in order to facilitate ordering an adequate supply of materials. Walk-ins are always welcome, yet must select from the materials available that evening. Sign ups for additional workshop supplies will be available on Presidents Night. Samples will not be available for viewing prior to the workshop. Please contact Donna with any questions regarding the Holiday Workshop.

New Members: Please extend a warm welcome to our new WHGC member, Lisa Williams. There are still a few WHGC membership openings available. If you know of anyone interested in joining our club, please see Karen Pritchard for an application or print the page located at the Membership Information button of the home page.

Inkjet Cartridge Recycling: Envelopes are available at monthly meetings for this recycling fundraiser. Thank you to all participants.

Shirley Lanzillotta 1934-2003

A Funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street ROCKLAND on Tuesday November 4, at 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church in Hanover at 11:00 AM. Calling Hours will be held Monday November 3, 4-8 PM. Burial will follow in Hanover Center Cemetery.

She was a member of the Walnut Hill Garden Club for decades.
