FUNDRAISER
WHGC is participating in Macy’s ‘Shop For A Cause’ fundraiser on October 13, 2007. Macy’s is providing the club with passes to sell for $5 each. Monies from the sale of passes go directly to the club. The pass offers 20% off merchandise from most store departments and 10% off regular sale & clearance furniture, mattresses and rugs. Contact Suzanne Mahler at 781-878-8039 or at the October 2 regular meeting to purchase your pass (or passes).

BY LAW REVIEW COMMITTEE A committee to review the club’s by laws is being formed. The committee will consist of 3 or more members and will be chaired by Karen Pritchard. Any member willing to serve can contact Karen at 781-878-7751 or at the October meeting. 

GARDEN THERAPY Glenda Larson needs additional members to join the Garden Therapy committee now providing 7 workshops for Hanover seniors. The workshops offer our elders seasonal activities (such as making boxwood trees or other projects using live and dried materials, 4 scheduled with the Legion Housing and 3 with the COA. There are currently 6 members on this committee, and Glenda needs one or two more members to help out. The workshops are held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Volunteers are not expected to attend all scheduled dates. If you want to make a real difference, this is a wonderful group to join. Contact Glenda at 781-982-8983. 

DIG & DIVIDE WORKSHOP WORK PARTY Suzanne Mahler will host a Dig & Divide work-shop in her garden on Friday, Oct. 5th , at 9:30 followed immediately by a work party to pot the divided plants for the June plant sale. If you signed up for a work party or would like to participate and learn how to divide perennials like an expert, contact Liz Fallon to sign up.

RAFFLE DONATIONS The raffle at the Annual Banquet was a huge success thanks to the wonderful items donated by our local tradesmen and several of our own club members listed below. Be sure to patronize their establishments and join us in thanking them for their generosity. A portion of the raffle proceeds is being donated to The South Shore Breast Cancer Center.

STETSON HOUSE CHRISTMAS Marie Sisk will chair the committee decorating the Stetson House this season. A meeting to review the 2007 theme, ‘A Christmas Past’, is scheduled for October 18, at 7 p.m. at the Stetson House. For 25 years, various groups have decorated the house for Christmas. The ’Christmas Past’ theme is an effort to recreate some of the favorite room designs that appeared over the last 25 years. The preview date is Friday, November 30, the open house dates are December 1- 3, 2007.

HALLOWEEN PARTY Members of the WHGC are invited to bring their children, grandchildren and friends to a Spooky Hayride on October 21, 2007 between 12 & 4 p.m.

We thank Terri Mallory and husband Norm Cedarstrom for again opening up their home to welcome WHGC families for this fun event!
