COMMUNITY GARDEN COMMITTEE UPDATE
The Community Garden Committee met at on January 21. Linda Kakulski acted as chairper-erson and participating were Jon Belber from Holly Hill Organic Farm in Cohasset, Louise Sironi, Kelly Lawrence, Joselyn Keegan and Nancy Arienti.
The goals are to locate a site for a garden and to find residents who are interested in partici-pating in the project. It is hoped the garden would become a town focal point, encouraging residents to work together sharing their pas-sion for gardening. Perhaps the garden could become a venue for other communal activities  and celebrations..

The group’s next meeting is Feb 5, 6:30 pm at the Hanover Police Station. All interested WHGC members are encouraged to attend to continue the planning, discussion and benefits of a Community Garden to all Hanover resi-dents.

The group has also agreed to sponsor a public lecture on March 10th featuring Jon Belber to speak on organic gardening and community gardens in particular.

(The Cedar School has requested School Com-mittee approval to start their own educational organic garden and it is hoped Center will do likewise.)
