JUNIOR GARDENERS Leslie Murphy- chair
On Saturday, September 6th Jeannine Doyle gave a fantastic demonstration on harvesting honey. It was quite an experience to stand so close to the hives, see how honey is spun and even have a taste test! We had a huge turnout and every child and adult left having learned several new facts about bees and honey making. We thank Jeannine for opening her home and having us. Any member interested in signing up their child to be a Junior Gardener can contact Leslie Murphy. We will meet again in late November to make crafts for the Stetson House for the holidays.

HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR The house tour is on track to be a fun and successful undertaking for the club. This event is Ways and Means project requiring all members to be involved by working on special committees and purchasing tickets, as stated in our Standing Rules. It has been decided to limit the number of tickets to 350 and to charge a price of $20 for advance sales, instead of $15 as originally planned. Tickets at the door on the day of the tour will be $25 and will go on sale in town at John Curtis Library, Town Hall and one other outlet to be identified on October 5th or shortly after. You will be able to purchase your tickets at the October 7th workshop meetings. Anne Lorge is chair of ticket sales. As noted, members are expected to attend the October meeting at each individual tour home. If you feel you are not artistically inclined, there are several other jobs that need to be filled; hostess schedules must be drawn up for the day of the tour; some of the homes require a ‘show’ of food and/or refresh-ments are needed for the Stetson House venue. At this meeting the group may find you have a perfect item needed for their designs if you are present. The evening is very casual, free of club business reports and a great opportunity to get to know your fel-low members. Those not attending will be contacted to identify when and how they can participate for the October 19th tour.
