May Meeting:   5/11/04 , 7:30 p.m. at the Phoenix Lodge.  Presentation topic:  “Flower Arranging for the Home” by Shirley Minott.  Shirley will inspire us by creating easy-to-do flower arrangements which will be raffled off at the end of the evening.

May Board Meeting:   5/18/04 , 7:30 p.m. , at the Phoenix Lodge.

 

June Garden Tea Party:   6/1/04 , 5:30 p.m. (note earlier time) at Deb Zawalich’s home

 

June Plant Sale :   6/12/04 , at Sandra Woodward ’s home.  This will be our club’s major fundraising event.  Members will be required to contribute 10 plants to the sale.  We will be looking to our members for 100% participation in some capacity.  Sign-ups for helpers will continue to be circulated at the May Meeting.

 

Geranium Sale :   The pick-up date for “pre-orders” from WHGC members is scheduled for Friday, 5/14/04 at Nelson Copy Supply Co. (199 Winter Street) between 4-6 p.m.    Public sale will start at 9 a.m. at the Hanover Town Hall parking lot.

 

Traffic Island Plant Pick-Up:  Plants will be ready for pick-up at Wyman’s Nursery from 5/19-5/21 only.  Plants will be labeled and stored in the greenhouse.

 

Art In Bloom:  Linda & Vicki Oman, our WHGC mother-daughter duo, prepared a “parallel line arrangement” (which is a creative design with three or more vertical groupings of plant material). This beautiful arrangement complimented an artistically sculpted greyhound bed at the MFA.

 

Membership Renewal/Interest Finders: Interest Finders have been recently mailed to you.  Please mail them back to Deb Zawalich ASAP or bring them to the May Meeting along with your $20 WHGC dues for 2004-05.  A $5 late fee will be applied for dues received after 6/15/04 .

 

WHGC Member Openings: We still have a few openings available for anyone who might be interested in joining WHGC.  A membership application can be obtained from Karen Pritchard.
