May Meeting - Tuesday, May 14th @ 7:00 p.m. at Cedar School GOING, GOING, GONE! This is an evening of so much fun & education. Every member is required to bring 3 plants to be auctioned. ). Dig & pot early so the plants have a chance to perk up again & look healthy. If you cannot provide something from the garden - don‘t fret, you can purchase 3 to bring (Home Depot, That Bloomin’ Place or wherever. If you are “plant-less” upon arrival, please pay an entrance fee of $10. at the door to enter.

Field Trips - All aboard for our field trip to the fabulous destination of the Variegated Foliage Nursery in CT - Friday, May 10th! You may have seen their entry in the Boston flower show the last few years, and this promises to be a real don't -miss outing! We will meet at 9 a.m. at the Bandstand and upon arriving later that morning, we will be treated to coffee and nibbles by the proprietor. Stan will also be leading us on a personalized tour around the grounds and we will have the opportunity to SHOP for some super additions for our gardens. Stan has also suggested some nice places in the area to have lunch after we have completed our visit. Club member, Suzanne Mahler, has been hoping to get this destination on our field trip list for years and the time is here! Please join us for an exciting, fun and informative day with your fellow garden-lovers!  We will return late afternoon. Please let Karen Pri (xxx-878-xxxx) know if you can come so that she can advise the nursery of how many they can count on for refreshments.

Membership Dues & Interest Finders - You will find a WHGC Interest Finder included in this newsletter. Please take a moment to review and complete and bring it to the auction along with your check for 2002/2003 WHGC dues. The information you provide will help the club to plan programs, speakers, workshops, fieldtrips that suit the needs and desires of our membership. Choose the committees that you would like to serve or - otherwise, the club will place you on one so be sure to include times and days you are available.

June Meeting - Tuesday, June 4th @ 5:30 p.m. Garden Party @ Carol Gemelli’s home. Tour her beautiful gardens - this is a special meeting not to be missed!

WHGC June Plant Sale is Saturday, June 1st, 2002 at Karen Pritchard’s home 633 Main Street from 9:00 a.m. till Gone! Details and signup sheets for various jobs will be circulated at the Plant Auction - be sure to choose a job this is our annual fundraiser and we need all of you to make it a success. If you are unable to attend the auction, a member of the committee will contact you for your choice.

Bandstand Cleanup - Wednesday, May 29th at 3:00p.m. Please come and lend a hand to spruce up the bandstand for Memorial Day. Bring your gloves and any tools you have to use.

Geranium Sale at Hanover Town Hall - Saturday, May 18th @ 9:00 a.m. - be sure to come and pick up your order or purchase your plants - Price $2.50/plant

“House Tour - Women’s Club Juniors - Sunday June 2nd, 2002 1-5 p.m. Five lovely Hanover homes and gardens. Admission $20.00 in advance - $25.00 day of the tour. Tickets are on sale at the Town Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, and Noble’s (formerly Culhane’s Card Shop) Rte 53 or send a check, include phone # and a stamped self-addressed envelope to Hanover Women’s Club Juniors, P O Box 151 Hanover MA 02339 - mail before May 25th. Day of Tour, tickets are on sale at the Hanover Town Hall parking lot from 12:30-3:30 p.m. For information call xxx-982-4456.

Relay for Life - Thank you to all who signed up to walk in the Relay for Life on June 14th & 15th. We are still accepting members if anyone is interested, please contact Rosemary Sampson xxx  826-3653. Please remember that the $10 commitment fee is due by May 15th. The fee counts toward the $100 that each member is encouraged to raise. Please mail your $10 check (American Cancer Society) to Rosemary or bring a check to the May 14th Plant Auction. Luminaries bags will be available at the May 14th meeting or you can pick them up earlier by contacting your team captain. We look forward to hearing from you.

Inkjet Cartridge Recycle Program - The club has ordered envelopes for your inkjet cartridges to be mailed (pre-addressed, postage paid) to receive a refund of $1.00 per cartridge - what an easy way to raise funds for the club. If you or your office has any of the cartridges on the enclosed page, please SAVE them to return in these envelopes that will be available at our meetings. It Pay$ to Recycle!
