Geranium Sale

We will be purchasing our geraniums from a new grower, Araujo Farms and Greenhouses, who have been “Growing for Generations”. This batch of plants will be “Zonal” which require no deadheading. The difference is seed geraniums or root cuttings. We will offer red, white, magenta (our formerly named fuchsia), salmon, and pink. Cost will be $3.00 per plant.  The signup for pre-orders will be passed at the March meeting. Pre-orders can also be made via our email: walnuthillma@hotmail.com. You will receive confirmation of any email order, if not please resend. Deadline for pre-orders is May 1st. Pick up for pre-orders is at the Nelson Office Supply warehouse on Winter Street and is limited to only Friday, May 19th from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. We ask for cell numbers due to ‘no shows’ with no one at home to contact. If orders are not picked up Friday they are not saved, they go into the mass sale held at the Town Hall on Saturday, May 20th.

June Plant Sale

The sign up for helpers will be passed at the March meeting. Everyone is expected to help at this plant sale. We also ask for wagon loans. Please let Sandra Woodward know ahead of time if you will be able to drop off a wagon so a nametag can be ready for your wagon.

Gardeners’ Palate

Please contact Louise Sironi if you want any more cookbooks.

Louise is currently preparing an application for a sizable cash award from Morris Press, the publisher. We will keep you updated.

ITEMS NEEDED- PLEASE HELP

A member volunteered many baskets but I cannot remember (Janet Guimond?) who approached me. Please contact Glenda Larson directly, ASAP.

Plant Markers for Sale

Suzanne Mahler has ordered more 13” markers. Contact Suzanne directly to buy some. The cost may be different than last time, we sell them at cost but the shipping is considerable because of the weight and this order is a different amount. Expect the price to be approximately $.75 for the incoming 13” and $.85 for the 20” that are left over.

Inkjet cartridges, old cell phones, toner cartridges.

WHGC has special bar coded envelopes and boxes to send out used cartridges and cell phones to be recycled properly. We receive funds for this at the same time as we save the environment. These are displayed with our fundraising items. Take as many as you want, pass them to your friends and co-workers.

Contact Joyce Kleinrath for more information.

Attendance

Every active member is required to attend at least five meetings per year. Everyone was checked off for the December Workshop because of the re-scheduling.

Hospitality – DUTY OF ALL ACTIVE MEMBERS

A note to those who are not familiar with what your duties consist of. Each club member is responsible for serving once during the club year as a member of the hospitality committee for a general meeting. If you are unable to participate at the meeting assigned to you, it is YOUR responsibility to switch places with another club member and to notify your captain and the captain of the other person of the switch.
