WHGC Cookbook: A great big thank you to all members for the 400+ recipes which were contributed. We will be having a “friendly contest” for our WHGC Cookbook cover title & design. Photos and drawings will be accepted. Black & white designs will also be needed for each food category:
Entrees, Soups & Salads, Appetizers, Desserts, Brunch, Muffins, Rolls & Bread, Potpourri, Holiday. 
The contest is open to members and their families. Please send submissions to Deb Zawalich’s attention by 3/1/05.

WHGC Scrapbook: Liz Fallon is compiling a wonderful scrapbook of all of past WHGC events. If you have any WHGC photos from past lectures, tea parties, events or garden tours/shows, please forward a copy to Liz.

White Winter Moth Epidemic: 3/24/05, 7:00 p.m. Congregational Church Hall, across from John Curtis Public Library and the Town Hall, Route 139, Hanover. WHGC will be sponsoring a public presentation on the White Winter Moth outbreak. Robert D. Childs. UMASS Amherst Entomologist and Deborah C. Swanson, Plymouth County Extension Educator will present a slide/lecture on the recent moths that have emerged last November/December. These moths laid eggs that will hatch into caterpillars next month with disastrous results. Topics include history of this newly introduced pest, the life cycle and management options. Entomologists agree that these European pests will pose a major threat to our untreated local trees this Spring. Unfortunately these moths have no known predators on this continent. Please come join us at this public presentation and learn how you can treat your trees before the infestation. SSNSC “Camper-ship”: The SSNSC Summer Day Camp offers exciting opportunities for children ages 3-14 to learn about the natural world. A $50 “Camper-ship” is available to anyone with a child, grandchild, niece or nephew who would be interested in attending. A nominating letter can be directed to Kathy Murray.
