December Meeting: 12/2/03, 7:00 p.m. at the Cedar School. Please join us for an enjoyable evening at our Holiday Workshop. Come create one of the following festive accent pieces for your home:

Boxwood Tree

Evergreen Door Swag

Evergreen Kissing Ball

Living Wreath

Topiary Tree (pay $8 if you bring your own base from last year)

Prices: $12 WHGC Members & $20 Guests. If you still have not signed up & are interested in attending, please contact Donna Kirby ASAP. Extra mechanics and supplies will be available for purchase that evening. Please remember your clippers.

Members are welcome to bring extra greenery to use or share such as: white pine, holly, spruce, arborvitae, etc. (no messy hemlock greens please) along with any additional ornamentation pieces (berries, pinecones, ribbon, wire, etc.) for your project.

Sandra Woodward will be taking photos from the workshop to include on our web site and in our new WHGC scrapbook. Please be sure to dress in a colorful & festive fashion and polish up those pearly smiles!

December Board Meeting: NO Board Meeting.

Stetson House Christmas: Pam Ferguson and her committee will be decorating the children’s room in the theme of “The Spirit of Christmas Past”. Please visit the Stetson House to see the results of all of their hard work come to fruition. A private viewing will be on Friday, 12/5, from 6-8 p.m. followed by the HCAS Concert at the Congregational Church Hall. Tickets can be purchased at the John Curtis Library or Noble’s for $10. This event will be open for public viewing on Saturday (12/6) & Sunday (12/7) 1-4p.m. and also on Monday (12/8) from 7-9 p.m.

January Meeting: 1/6/04, 7:30 p.m. at the Phoenix Lodge. Please join us for our Annual Potluck Dinner Night as Scott Fredrickson entertains us with a slide presentation on “Taking the Fear out of Pruning”.

All active members should bring an appetizer, main dish or a side dish while the hostess committee will supply the beverages and desserts.

Brockton Female Veterans Holiday Gift: Kathy Murray is collecting cosmetic bags and cosmetics for the female veterans. Please bring any contributions to the December Workshop or drop off at Kathy Murray’s home (leave on her farmer’s porch).

AWARDS COMMITTEE: Updated since hard copy mailing

Louise Sironi, WHGC Awards Chair, reports that the Books in Bloom (Joint Award with HGC), Garden Therapy and Website Applications have been completed ahead of schedule and are in the mail. We won‘t know the status until the Spring Conference. Keep up the hard work. Here are a few pictures which were included.
