In late May of this year Dr. Suniti Nimbkar, a surgeon at the South Shore Hospital Breast Care Center in Weymouth, contacted the Walnut Hill Garden Club through our website to request flowers for their waiting room. The South Shore Hospital Breast Care Center is affiliated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The Center treats 350 men and women a month from the South Shore. The Walnut Hill Garden Club Board of Directors unanimously agreed to supply arrangements from our gardens or purchased by an individual on a weekly basis. We presented the idea to our membership in September, when our meeting year started, and a different person each week has volunteered to provide a floral design.
