WHGC was the recipient of a "Civic Development Grant" from the
Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts (GCFMA) for our project at the
World War I Memorial Flagpole project in front of the Sylvester School.
This project was not only costly but also very labor intensive. Many
members joined in this work, even through rainy weather. This involved not
only landscaping but also hardscaping with cobblestone. This was such a
large project it is hard to show in pictures. These don't do justice to
the hard work, dedication and contributions made to the project.
